Naty Tremblay
Week four of the Artists’ Soup Kitchen presented the work of Naty Tremblay. Naty shared personal stories from the farms, factories, streets, plantations, greenhouses, sweatshops, and family dinners they had encountered along their path. Using the form of an animated ‘Raconteurs’ the performance wove together stories, observations, songs and poetry that explored Naty’s relationships with farming and food. Sharing old, new, true and tickled personal accounts, from the ways our food is grown, processed, packaged, shipped and marketed along the way, to the identities working in the fields, greenhouses and factories that produce our food, the performance recounted some of the gorgeous lessons learnt and human relationships built within communities of farmers, healers, activists, queers and artists while savoring the simple art of eating a good meal with family.
